Vegetarianism is not just a belief; it is a lifestyle. It’s a lifestyle abstaining from meat, where healthy living is priority number one, and in which animals are loved and are not viewed as food. Some people take up vegetarianism for health reasons; others for spiritual or religious reasons, and some seek it out due to their love for animals and their inability to see those animals on their plate.
Not everyone can see themselves being vegetarian, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t occasionally indulge in vegetarian food. The general perception of vegetarian food is that it is bland and tasteless and has no real substance to it. However there could be nothing further from the truth. In fact vegetarian food cooked right is absolutely delightful in aroma and taste and sometimes carnivores might not even realize what they are eating has no meat in it. This is no myth, it has happened before.
Well instead of relying on what’s been written, come try some truly charismatic vegetarian food and decide for yourself.
Where, you ask? Café Salivation of course!
Never heard of it? Hmm…well then here’s some information about it.
Café Salivation is the latest brainchild of the Raj Group of restaurants and appeals to vegetarians who have suffered from the lack of variety available to them in Singapore. The cuisine is western with subtle Indian influences thrown in. The fare is an amalgam of Italian, Mexican, and American and the main focus of their dishes is to provide exceptional taste at bargain prices. Another interesting fact is that if a customer doesn’t eat onion or garlic they can request for dishes to be prepared without it. The icing on the cake literally is that it offers a scintillating variety of eggless desserts, cakes and pastries. The large variety of fresh fruit juices, mocktails, milkshakes, and gourmet coffees just add to its character.

It is located in a charming shop house on Syed Alwi Road in Little India. The décor is a cheerful mix of pinks and oranges, which brings to mind one word, vibrancy. Their use of vibrant colours makes it stand out from the pack and makes sure you can’t miss it.
As far as café’s go, one might wonder why this particular location was chosen, but there is a valid explanation behind this choice. Syed Alwi is an extremely vibrant road teeming with restaurants, majority of which are vegetarian ones. It has become a meeting point for people to congregate and revel in vegetarian food. It is the place for Indian vegetarian fare but there is no reason why other types of vegetarian food can’t join in on the fun. Based on their belief that delicious vegetarian food has no boundaries, they decided to open Café Salivation and expose people to the true taste of charismatic western vegetarian food.
Come try the food at Café Salivation and get hooked on delightful vegetarian cuisine!
